Next Act presents McGivern's Boomer Milwaukee Americana

By Russ Bickerstaff
My daughter is familiar with John McGivern. She's only one year old. She was sitting around waiting to come out of the womb when my wife and I saw him perform for Next Act a little over a year ago. Our little daughter was VERY excited throughout the performance--kicking and moving around with a lot of energy. And now she has to wait a few more years  before she can see him perform live out...

Here's a quick list: September 16th:   At 7:30 ...

Late last month, The Boulevard Theatre opened the Midwest premiere of It’s Your Mother with a pair of performances attended by the show’s playwrights Durante & Tuxill. It was interesting seeing the show knowing that they were in the audience and their attendance at the talkback added an interesting dynamic to the evening. Boulevard Theatre’s It’s Your Mother runs through May 9th. This m...

Words On The Script Enter the Mind Via Familiar Voices

By Russ Bickerstaff
Its always pleasant to have the opportunity to read bits of a script prior to opening night. Most of the bigger-budget shows come from established scripts . . . and even more contemporary scripts are usually available in some format from Google Books online. It isnt the full script, but its usually a pretty good idea of what to expect from the complete play. Id recently had the opportunity to ...
