Last year former Cardinals manager Tony LaRussa complained about everything from the Miller Park roof to the ribbon board and now he's got a comrade in arms. Giants manager Bruce Bochy blamed his team's first-inning errors on the bright sun that cut across the left side of the infield. He blamed the partially closed Miller Park roof. The Brewers have taken to partially closing the right side of th...

In a move that many hoped they'd make, the Brewers claimed former Arizona Diamondback Cody Ransom off waivers. Ransom hit .269 with four homers and 13 RBI while with the Diamondbacks and is a  career .226/.310/.409 hitter over 248 major league games.  Since Alex Gonzalez went down, the Brewers have been woefully thin at SS. Cesar Izturis is not a long term option and Edwin Maysonet, while he did...

Doug Melvin was on the radio this morning stating that he thought Marco Estrada would miss 3-4 starts and later today he was put on the 15-day DL. He left yesterday's game with what was termed a right hip-flexor strain, but is now being called a quad injury. Mike McClendon has been called up from Nashville to replace Estrada on the roster. The current option looks to be Manny Parra taking a role a...

In just seven days back with the TimberRattlers, Nick Ramirez is making his presence known and showing that last year's numbers aren't the type of hitter he plans to be. After going hitless in his debut, he's had at least one hit in each of the games since, including last night's walk-off single to win the game for the TimberRattlers in the 10th inning. The .250 batting average might not be imp...

After the 2008 season, the Brewers ended their contract with the single-A West Virginia Power and moved their low-A affiliate team to Appleton and the Wisconsin TimberRattlers. The TimberRattlers had been Seattle's A team since 1993, but there's a history of minor league baseball in Appleton that dates back to 1958. Prior to their four years in West Virginia, the Brewers A affiliate had been the...

Because it hasn't been painful enough to be a Brewers fan this week, but now Ryan Braun has a sore Achilles and Carlos Gomez left tonight's game, apparently with some sort of hamstring issue. Braun left Wednesday's game after his heel started to bother him. The team had an off day yesterday and he's not playing today. If he's out for any extended amount of itme, the Brewers are going to struggle w...

After last night's play, today's news seems inevitable, but word is that Mat Gamel tore his ACL trying not to run into the wall while catching a foul ball Tuesday night. Gamel will need surgery and will likely miss the rest of the season. Gamel had finally gotten his chance to become the starting first baseman and just a month into the season, his chance is over. Frustration probably doesn't begin...
