For a rather small school, Marquette has long made waves in the uniform community with some of their outlandish looks. From sporting vertical striping down one side, to a bumble bee look. to camo long before camo was cool,to the powder blues that have periodically surfaced over the years, Marquette is actually usually on the fore-front of uniform changes for a school with a small profile and even ...

In a time when it seems every time you turn on a sporting event you get a drama-filled story instead, I'm a little surprised I haven't heard more about the path Jae Crowder has taken to Marquette before. Blog Ballin' is a Habit recently profiled Crowder and paints a pretty bleak picture of the extremely difficult path he took to Division 1 basketball. Crowder enrolled in a junior college with hope...

The Marquette Tribune did an interesting article on what it takes to be a walk-on for the basketball team. It was so well done that it spawned a post on ESPN.com's College Basketball Nation blog. Marquette help walk-on tryouts following the graduation of uber-walk-on Rob Frozena. He's Marquette's only ever four-year walk-on. Frozena was a fan-favorite and the student section went nuts whenever he...

Marquette leaked some new uniforms a couple of weeks ago. They had managed to avoid the Nike curse of uniform ridiculousness for so long, but it has finally made its way to Milwaukee. Nike first used the Aerographics in the 2008 Olympics. They say the burnout mesh allows for better ventilation and that the jersey weighs 31% less than previous models. The first schools to get Aerographics, in 2009,...

Last week Pittsburgh and Syracuse announced they were leaving the Big East for the ACC. These moves are football-baesd, but they look like they're going to have lasting effects throughout all NCAA atheletics. Because these realignments are about football - the biggest revenue producer in NCAA sports - schools like Marquette, who don't have a football team, look like they could be left out as confe...

Andy Glockner over at SI.com points out that Marquette had a tough run last season and often had to look for ways to win a game in the closing  minutes. He says they shouldn't have to do that this year. He points out the emergence of Darius Johnson-Odom, Jae Crowder, Junior Cadougan, Chris Otule and Vander Blue and says that instead of being on the bubble, Marquette should find themselves comfort...
