Im outraged. As the Journal Sentinel put it in their screaming headline this morning, State budget deal bought with earmarks. The nerve! Who do these Assembly Democrats think they are!?!? Slipping $5,000 grants to food pantries in the middle of the night. Or $10,000 for a generator in Jefferson County! Money for an emergency shelter, the Racine Cops-n-Kids Reading Program,...

Despite what the Sentinel headline implied, Vital will keep its staff and office, and plans to relaunch its Web site in Feb...

Plus Winners and Jerks of the Week

In an appalling attempt to create news, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, in its usual role as the lapdog for the right-wing elements of the business community, distorted and blew up an innocuous vote by a Milwaukee Public Schools board committee to explore the question of the state’s role in public education.

Calculator totals up the business lobby’s cost to taxpayer

Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce (WMC), the state’s big business lobbying group, costs the state about $31 a second. That’s because WMC’s proposals—from slashing corporate income taxes to opposing insurance coverage of wigs for cancer patients—
