Tonight @ the Times Cinema - 6:30 p.m.

Ryan Gosling delivered a career performance in the 2006 independent drama Half Nelson as Dan Dunne, a charming young high-school teacher and basketball coach whose burgeoning friendship with one of his students, played by Shareeka Epps, is complicated by his not-so-hidden drug addiction. Though she has family troubles of her own, the student becomes a nurturing, almost parental figure for hear teacher. Tonight’s...

Tonight @ the Times Cinema - Midnight

The Times Cinema tonight hosts a midnight screening of one of the most popular cult comedies of all time, Joel and Ethan Coen’s lone stoner epic The Big Lebowski, starring an inspired Jeff Bridges as a laid-back dude who gets caught up in a kidnapping scheme that involves, among many other things, a defiled carpet, bowling and German nihilists who “believe in nothing”—but mercilessly avoids run-ins with a mulleted serial killer armed with a cattlegun.

They’re a Chicago co-ed indie pop ensemble with a warm, dreamy sound...

Life everything the troupe did, it has a fervent cult following, which makes it a logical choice for tonight’s . . .

Milwaukee’s buy-local organization, Our Milwaukee, hosts a series of events and promotions this week to remind shoppers about the economic and cultural benefits of frequenting local businesses. Many of their points are mirrored in the 2005 documentary Independent America, which they’ll screen free...

Tonight @ the Times Cinema - Midnight

As just about everyone involved with the recording has made clear time and time again, Dark Side of the Moon was never intended to sync up with the 1939 musical The Wizard of Oz—and 1973 studio technology would have made it nearly impossible to pull off even if Pink Floyd had wanted to. Dark Side of the Moon . . .
