No Wisconsin players were drafted in the first two rounds, but that changed quickly on day two as three Badgers were were picked within a few minutes of each other. Looks like third round was a charm for the Badgers. The Oakland Raiders picked defensive end Matt Shaughnessy with the 71st pick overall. The Detroit Lions selected outside linebacker DeAndre Levy with the 12th pick of the second round....

A lot of talk over the past few years has centered on Jack Z and how absolutely great the Brewers are at drafting and developing homegrown talent. Apparently, that's not going to end any time soon.Al at Al's Ramblings had this tidbit:Two of the best evaluators I know say Milwaukee’s (Class AA) Huntsville club is the best prospect team in the minors. Another says Huntsville has five legitimate st...

If that's the case, I can't wait to see what Scouting Director Jack Zduriencik has up his sleeve this time around.Of course, t...

This article was featured in Friday's Journal-Sentinel pre-draft coverage and basically says that Jack Ikegwuonu would be likely to be drafted. Instead, Ikegwuonu was drafted in the 4th round today. The sixth round had a bit of a rush on former Badgers, as kicker Taylor Melhaff went to New Orleans at #178 overall. Defensive tackle Nick Hayden went three spots later at #181 to the Carolina Panthers....

The Packers traded down to get an extra fourth round pick, so they had no first round pick. Instead, they got the Jets second round pick at #36, just 6 picks below our original pick. With that pick they took Jordy Nelson, a WR out of Kansas State. This pick seems a little odd, what with Donald Drive, James Jones, Ruvell Martin and Koren Robinson already on the team at WR. In addition, after the pi...

Last night on SportsCenter, the Packers were the featured team in terms of draft talk and some interesting tidbits came up.First is that, with the exception of Aaron Rodgers, we've used our first round pick for the past few years to pick up a defensive player. The second nugget that came out was how last season's draft really ended up being a vote of confidence in Aaron Rodgers. I never looked at ...
