After the abysmal four game series loss to the San Francisco Giants, Ken Macha's leash was probably the shortest its been in his tenure as the Brewers' Manager. But his team bailed him out with three straight one-run wins over the Pirates (including two walk-offs) The Pirates proved to be the cure for what ails ya as Ryan Braun broke out of his slump while he and Corey Hart had walk-off hits on Fr...

Despite not being on the ballot, Corey Hart, who leads the league in many offensive categories, made the player vote and due to injury to fan-voted Jason Heyward of the Braves, may be in line to start the All-Star Game next to Ryan Braun.   Braun set a Brewers record by being voted in three straight years by the fans. He led all NL outfielders in fan voting.   This J-S article has some "woe is m...

Ryan Braun leads all NL outfielders, though only by a narrow margin, and looks to become the first Brewer to be elected to three consecutive All-Star Games.   But Atlanta's Jason Heyward and Dodger Andre Ethier are close on his heels.   Go here: http://milwaukee.brewers.mlb.com/mil/fan_forum/allstar_offers.jsp to cast your vote for the Brewers. Prince Fielder is third among NL first basemen and ...

According to Adam McCalvy, "Suppan, the veteran right-hander released by the Brewers on Monday, is close to finalizing deal with the Cardinals and could join the team this weekend in Phoenix. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch first reported that the parameters of a deal were in place, and Suppan's agent, Scott Leventhal, confirmed it to MLB.com. " From what I'm reading, they've agreed to terms but do...

In case you didn't see it, tonight the Brewers had a bit of a stolen base/hit and run on with Carlos Gomez on first base. He never slowed and took third when the ball was fielded and thrown to first for the out. The ball was then thrown to third to try and get Gomez out, but was overthrown and Gomez came home on the error. Make sense? If not, Disciples of Uecker broke down the play with diagrams to...

With his $10 million contract hanging around our necks, Doug Melvin and Mark Attanasio seemed to be hoping for a miracle resurgence from Jeff Suppan this season. When it didn't happen, they didn't seem to know what to do with themselves - or him. Already stuck paying for Braden Looper and Bill Hall's contract while they're no longer on the team, the Brewers seemed loathe to admit to another wrong ...

I was out camping for Memorial Day and missed a bunch of transactions for the Brewers.   The biggest news is the return of Chris Capuano, who hasn't pitched in the major leagues since September 2007. He has had two Tommy John surgeries and showed some good pitching in the minors. He will be getting the start on Thursday for the Brewers.   Manny Parra was moved back to the bullpen.   Nashville p...
