Doug Davis and Todd Coffey will be making appearances with AAA Nashville to prepare them for returns to the major league roster from the DL.   Davis has been out with a heart inflammation problem while Todd Coffey bruised his thumb batting in a game a few weeks ago....

Ryan Braun leads all NL outfielders, though only by a narrow margin, and looks to become the first Brewer to be elected to three consecutive All-Star Games.   But Atlanta's Jason Heyward and Dodger Andre Ethier are close on his heels.   Go here: http://milwaukee.brewers.mlb.com/mil/fan_forum/allstar_offers.jsp to cast your vote for the Brewers. Prince Fielder is third among NL first basemen and ...

According to Adam McCalvy, "Suppan, the veteran right-hander released by the Brewers on Monday, is close to finalizing deal with the Cardinals and could join the team this weekend in Phoenix. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch first reported that the parameters of a deal were in place, and Suppan's agent, Scott Leventhal, confirmed it to MLB.com. " From what I'm reading, they've agreed to terms but do...

In case you didn't see it, tonight the Brewers had a bit of a stolen base/hit and run on with Carlos Gomez on first base. He never slowed and took third when the ball was fielded and thrown to first for the out. The ball was then thrown to third to try and get Gomez out, but was overthrown and Gomez came home on the error. Make sense? If not, Disciples of Uecker broke down the play with diagrams to...

With his $10 million contract hanging around our necks, Doug Melvin and Mark Attanasio seemed to be hoping for a miracle resurgence from Jeff Suppan this season. When it didn't happen, they didn't seem to know what to do with themselves - or him. Already stuck paying for Braden Looper and Bill Hall's contract while they're no longer on the team, the Brewers seemed loathe to admit to another wrong ...

I was out camping for Memorial Day and missed a bunch of transactions for the Brewers.   The biggest news is the return of Chris Capuano, who hasn't pitched in the major leagues since September 2007. He has had two Tommy John surgeries and showed some good pitching in the minors. He will be getting the start on Thursday for the Brewers.   Manny Parra was moved back to the bullpen.   Nashville p...

May is way too early for the Milwaukee Brewers’ season to be over. So it’s okay to ignore the chorus of yahoos who say otherwise. Apparently, Brewers owner Mark Attanasio is ready to do the same by keeping his head when all around him are losing theirs and blaming it on Ken Macha. Firing the manager is the simple-minded solution of choice for sports...

The Brewers were so hard up for bench players tonight that pitcher Yovani Gallardo was used as a pinch hitter in the 7th inning. Some of the pressure of that situation will be alleviated when Carlos Gomez rejoins the team from the 15-day DL. Not only does his re-entering the lineup give Ken Macha more options, but he's a right-handed bat to face the pitching staff the Brewers will see in Minne...

Gregg Zaun left tonight's game when it looked like a pitch hit his finger. Turns out he has a shoulder strain. This is likely the same injury that caused all those poor throw-backs to the mound way back on April 26. Not sure why he's just now taking time for it to heal if it was an issue almost a month ago. Less sure if that's on him for pretending it's ok or on Macha for pretending it wasn't happ...
