Should taxpayers foot the bill for a public school system that doesn’t require its teachers to hold a license, can accept students from other states and boosts the revenue of an out-of-state corporation?

Five weeks can be an eternity during a campaign—especially when the presidential races are as unpredictable as they are now. The candidates face more than a dozen primaries— including Feb. 5’s Super Duper Tuesday— before Wisconsin voters go to the polls on Feb. 19, and anything can happen between now and then.

In 2004, 20 million unmarried women—single, divorced, separated or widowed—didn’t vote. In 2006, that number was 30 million. Depressing? Yes. But in 2008, these women are considered the voting bloc that could determine the outcome of the next presidential election and many more to come.
