This picture of Nyjer Morgan from FS Wisconsin is too amazing not to share.   Some fun Deja Vu tonight. Braun hit the home run to beat the Cubs on the final day of the season in 2008 to clinch the NL Wild Card. In 2008 the Brewers beat the Cubs and had to hang around the stadium to wait to watch the Marlins win. Today the Brewers beat the Marlins and had to wait to see the Cubs win.   The Brew...

Apparently the Brewers really are as loose a clubhouse as the media has been reporting all season. Because today they decided that when in Texas... So they apparently went in groups to buy boots, belt buckles and the whole caboodle to dress as cowboys for their trip from Houston to St. Louis. According to MLB.com writer Adam McCalvy, in 2001 the Brewers did a similiar thing after sweeping the Cubs...

The Cardinals completed a sweep of the Brewers yesterday in spectacular fashion, as Albert Pujols, who the Brewers had really held in check over the season series until this point, went 4-for-4 with 5 RBI and two home-runs - including a third-inning grand slam that put the game out of the reach of the Brewers. Thursday's game featured a leadoff home run from Rafeael Furcal (who's hit 5 HR all seas...

Having won 22 of their last 26 (yes, they've had just four losses in the month of August), the Brewers are undeniably the hottest team in baseball. It seems unlikely the team can keep up this torrid pace, though we did say that when they started this streak with an 8-1 homestand. Of course, in the three weeks since, they have kept it up. But should fans worry that this crazy stretch comes in Augus...

ESPN's Steve Berthiaume seems to think so. Axford has already notched 31 saves this season and would seem to be on pace to break Francisco Cordero's season record of 44 saves, which he did in 2007. Axford had a rough April and his ERA was near 9. He blew 2 of 5 saves early and things were looking pretty bleak. Since then, he's set a team record of 27 straight saves and lowered his ERA to about ...

Just moments after the end of the All-Star Game, news broke that Dealin' Doug Melvin was at it again and had added Mets closer Francisco Rodriguez (K-Rod). Details of the trade so far are sketchy - the Brewers traded 2 players to be named later (PTBNL) to the Mets for K-Rod and cash. K-Rod is 2-2 with a 3.16 ERA in 42 games so far for the Mets. He's 23-for-26 in save opportunities. It's not clear ...

I'm not sure why I'm still sitting here watching the Brewers lose to the Yankees 7-0 in the 4th. Greinke made it just two innings. Though the official scorebook gives all those runs to Greinke as earned, Nyjer Morgan and Casey McGehee made questionable defensive plays that cost Greinke outs and made him work harder. I have to admit that I'm still on the Suzie Sunshine train with Greinke. I exp...

If new-to-the-team this year Brewer Nyjer Morgan hasn't won your heart, you haven't been paying attention.   The newest addition to the team has given some epic interviews, entertained with his Twitter account and is hitting .330. This post-game interview literally had me jumping and clapping in my easy chair   He interacts with fans on Twitter, taking their advice on what to do with his off da...

Has the curse of the road been broken? The Brewers have managed to eke out three one-run wins in Florida and seem to have broken out of the slump they've had away from Miller Park. The lack of offense seems to have been solved and the defensive woes aren't plaguing the team. Roenicke seems to have made the right choice by sitting Casey McGehee. Josh Wilson has proved himself a valuable pick up. Th...

The first step was taken today when Casey McGehee was taken out of the lineup. Not only is Casey not getting hits, but he's even incapable of putting a sac fly in the air. While Craig Counsell's batting average isn't any better, he takes walks and gives you a solid at-bat every time. Until Casey can figure out where his swing went, he shouldn't be in the lineup. But it's time to talk about the res...
