The Saturday Brewers game was likely the most fun/best time I've ever had at a sporting event. Jim Powell said yesterday that after the game in the clubhouse, the Phillies Ryan Howard was overheard saying that after Dave Bush struck out the final 2 in the first inning, he's never heard a stadium louder. That's awesome. Also, we're the first NL Central postseason win since game 5 of th...

There's a whole gallery here on the Tribune website, complete with snarky commentary. Remember last week when everyone was making fun of the Dodgers since their record was worse than the 3rd place team in the NL Central. And the Cubs were all cocky - you know, as the Cubs usually are. And now they've lost 2 at home. Today...

I literally just walked in the door from today's Brewers game that started 5 hours ago. The game was only 2 hours and 25 minutes long. About 25,000 fans sat in the stands and watched the Mets game on the JumboTron and then we watched the team celebrate. I literally took over 500 pictures. I didn't stop to see what I got, I just kept clicking. Why? Because the Brewers just made their first postseas...

Jim Cryns on Sports

So this is what a baseball playoff atmosphere feels like in Milwaukee. I was around for the last one, but at that time I was much thinner, had more hair, less intelligence. Miller Park was an exciting place to be last night. The fans armed with their Brewers towels, waved them vigorously from the early innings. When CC Sabathia was in a jam, they waved the towels again and he magically got out of the inning. When a clutch hit was required, the towels again...

Over at Brewed Sports they unearthed a possible conspiracy theory on a Cubs fanboard that basically suggests the Cubs should play their hardest against us in order to prevent us from reaching the playoffs, thereby lowering our monetary intake and creating a payroll problem for us in the future.Poster DannyNoonan doesn't mind the theory, since it involves a team playing their hardest, which you can...

Damn it's fun to be a fan this week! Also, a poster over at Brewerfan.net had this to say:           Bold prediction: we will look back on this the same way we look back on Ned Yost's home run against Boston in 1982.Except, you know, Prince doesn't suck at baseball and we won't hate him for being a crappy manager 26 years from now.            Hilarious!!Go watch the walk-off grea...

The alien who took over Dave Bush seems to have vacated his position and the old Dave Bush returned this afternoon, giving up 6 runs in the top of the 1st.And to be fair, the team as a whole is kind of choking. As I mentioned earlier in the week, if the season were to end now, we'd be playing the Mets in the post-season. Obviously, after these 3 games, that's not something we're ready for.It seems...

Found this in a thread on BrewerFan.net Cubbies aren't so lovable after all from SI.com A sampling: There are certain things you learn when you move to the Midwest. For instance, there doesn't have to be a technical reason (like, say, construction or an accident) for a long traffic jam. No matter how hot it may get -- and a Heartland July can melt Volkswagens -- people wil...

I wrote this yesterday and forgot to post it, so the stat's don't include yesterday's game... This series has been the most frustrating of the season (Or maybe tied with the Boston series). I think they're very similar series. Our defense is awful. We can't get guys around the bases. Our pitching is faltering and we look like pretenders. This series has highlighted the holes in t...

Today @ Miller Park - 1:05 p.m.

The Milwaukee Brewers continue their first home-game series against the Chicago Cubs—a showdown so intense it feels like the decisive battle for the playoff spot, even though there are still months left in the season—today with a 1:05 game at Miller Park.
