LF Ryan Braun and 1B Prince Fielder won Silver Slugger Awards from the MLB tonight. The awards, presented by Louisville Slugger, are awarded to the top hitters at each position in each league. The last NL outf...

In a somewhat inexplicable move, the Brewers added five years to Ryan Braun's contract, putting him under club control til 2020. He had already signed a contract in May 2008 that had him in Milwaukee til 2015. The new contract keeps him in Milwaukee until he's 36. The deal is 2008 was and is the biggest contract for a player with less than one year of Major League service. The new deal is wort...

From Brewers.com" "Brewers outfielder Ryan Braun and pitcher Yovani Gallardo earned Silver Slugger awards on Thursday. It was the third straight Silver Slugger for Braun, who batted .304 with 25 home runs and 103 RBIs. Gallardo earned his first Silver Slugger by virtue of hitting four doubles, four home runs and driving in 10 while batting .254."   The Braun win comes as no surprise, but I th...

Despite not being on the ballot, Corey Hart, who leads the league in many offensive categories, made the player vote and due to injury to fan-voted Jason Heyward of the Braves, may be in line to start the All-Star Game next to Ryan Braun.   Braun set a Brewers record by being voted in three straight years by the fans. He led all NL outfielders in fan voting.   This J-S article has some "woe is m...

I may be the only woman in the greater Wisconsin area to say it, but JJ Hardy never really did it for me and frankly I’m more than a little sick of the implication that I’d be against the trade merely because I’ll miss Hardy’s baby blues. A lot of fans are really against this trade, but I can’t get too up in arms about it. Hardy was on his way out the door and the Brewers were tryin...

Considering what a sad season it's been, Braun and Fielder have really racked up the records. According to @Haudricourt on twitter, Ryan Braun has four games to get four hits and become the first Brewer with 200 hits since Paul Molitor in 1991....
