With the Brewers taking on the first-place Reds this week it’s been a good time to take stock of the trade the two teams made a few weeks ago. Looking for more power, the Reds traded for Jim Edmonds. The Brewers got Chris Dickerson in return. Edmonds had seen a lot of time in the field for the Brewers then we would have expected from a fourth outfielder. The trade to a team with post-season h...

Sunday afternoon the boyfriend and I headed to Miller Park for CC Sabathia Bobblehead Day. We'd had these tickets for months. Sadly, a few weeks ago the boyfriend's out of two Fantasy Football league chose today at 4 pm as their draft time for the live draft. This draft takes place in Minnesota and the boyfriend usually drives up there for. Since they chose a Sunday, he stayed here and is doing th...

I was shocked earlier in the week reading the comments over at JSOnline.com on the stories about the Bug Selig statue that was unveiled in front of Miller Park. I was shocked to learn of the vitriol that so many seem to carry for him. I was in high school when the surge to build Miller Park was happening and was admittedly blissfully unaware at the time. I wasnt yet a baseball fan and I didn...

The boyfriend and I took at trip to Denver in Mid-June to follow the Brewers and because I’d never been. We hiked in Rocky Mountain National Park, drove up Mount Evans, spent some time in Boulder and watched two baseball games. Sadly, the Brewers lost both the games we went to and won the game we decided to forgo in favor of Rocky Mountain National Park. But the trip was worthwhile to check anot...

For weeks the Brewers were treading water, never able to get higher than eight games below .500 and watching the Cardinals and Reds monopolize the division race. When the Observers chatted by phone last Thursday (with Frank still immersed in Yankee Land) the Brewers had just seen three starting pitchers in four games give up 10 or more runs...

ESPN.com is reporting that Ken Macha complained to a baseball official that Brewers' hitters, who have been hit more than any other team in baseball, are getting hit by too many pitches.   Not sure what complaining to an unnamed official will accomplish, but the article goes on to say that Macha also met with Braves' manager Bobby Cox about the issue....

From MLBTradeRumors.com via Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle the Brewers asked for either Madison Bumgarner or Jonathan Sanchez in exchange for Hart. Both are young pitchers under team control for some years. The Brewers faced each of the young pitches during the Giants recent four-game stint at Miller Park and were able to muster just one run each day. According to the rumor, the Gia...

After the abysmal four game series loss to the San Francisco Giants, Ken Macha's leash was probably the shortest its been in his tenure as the Brewers' Manager. But his team bailed him out with three straight one-run wins over the Pirates (including two walk-offs) The Pirates proved to be the cure for what ails ya as Ryan Braun broke out of his slump while he and Corey Hart had walk-off hits on Fr...

Despite not being on the ballot, Corey Hart, who leads the league in many offensive categories, made the player vote and due to injury to fan-voted Jason Heyward of the Braves, may be in line to start the All-Star Game next to Ryan Braun.   Braun set a Brewers record by being voted in three straight years by the fans. He led all NL outfielders in fan voting.   This J-S article has some "woe is m...
