The first list of nominees for women's hockey's top honor was released today and three Badgers made the cut. Brianna Decker, Meghan Duggan and Hilary Knight are on the 26-person list. This past weekend, Duggan passed Sara Bauer as the all-time career points leader. Bauer had set the record at 218 and with her three assists on Friday, Duggan moved to 220 points. Bauer won the Patty Kazmaier in 2...

With a ranking of 7 in the Harris and Coaches' Poll and a 10 in last week's BCS, the Badgers move up to 9th in this week's BCS standings, two places ahead of Ohio State.   How cool... More than one rivalry Saturday          MADISON, Wis.          Over 260 miles separate Wisconsin’s Camp Randall Stadium and Minnesota’s TCF Bank Stadium. Rather than drive to this weekend’s Badger football game in Minnesota, members of the Wisconsin chapter of the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity, otherwise known as FIJI, decided they would rather run. Yes, you re...

Plus Heroes and Jerks of the Week

Payday lenders prey on the working poor by providing extremely high-interest loans (for example, a 10-week loan for $200 could cost an additional $200 in interest and fees). This issue was so serious

Since it has hardly ever happened, the conventional wisdom is that a Milwaukee politician cannot be elected governor of Wisconsin. So is there a serious possibility that both political parties could nominate candidates from Milwaukee...

The Highway J/164 expansion may not be legal

Residents of Waukesha and Washington counties won a big victory against state and federal agencies that started to pave paradise in southeastern Wisconsin. The case, filed in 2005 by the Highway J Citizens Group, U.A., and the Waukesha County Environmental Action League (WEAL), made...
