A lot of people I talk to notice their allergies get worse the older they get. Based on what I've learned over the past couple years, this is not surprising. I am not a doctor, I'm a person who got tired of taking many different prescriptions to treat many different symptoms. The one I will talk about today is allergies and hives. Two months after I gave birth to my second child, I started itchin...

Below is some important information for anyone with an ASD child or a parent who is concerned about vaccines. After hearing about the mitochondrial disorder and Autism link, I reviewed my son's labwork. It turns out that one of the labs done indicated that my son has a mitochondrial disorder. I have heard from mainstream medical sources that there is "no test" that can show a predisposition for Autism. This is not true. There are several different labs that would indicate a predisposition. If you would like to have your child tested before you agree to have dozens of vaccines administered, one place that can help you is Dr. John Hicks at Pathways Medical Advocates. Another option is searching for a DANN! doctor in your area. Just Google Dann Doctor and search from there.

I am providing another article and video on artificial sweeteners. I normally do not post anything Snopes.com regards false, but in this case, I firmly believe snopes.com is wrong. It states "anecdotal only" as reason. As a mother of an ASD child, I know full well that anecdotal is proof enough. When you have thousands of people with similar anecdotes, maybe it's time to take a closer look, conduc...

Daniel Amen, M.D., provided the following interview in his newsletter. I know increasing my omega-3s helped get me off antidepressants, so I'd like to encourage others to give it a try for depression or anger issues.  Newsletter/Interview:   Brain In The News: Substance Abuse, Anger and Omega-3 Fatty Acids "Brain in the News" is a weekly commentary on how brain science relates to the news....

Atkins, South Beach, Gluten-free, Low fat, Low Sodium, blood type diet, the list goes on. Which one is right for you? Perhaps the answer is none of these. As mentioned in my previous blogs, I am not a healthcare professional. I am someone who has been fighting to get my life back on track after years of eating the wrong foods. In my case, I should have been on a gluten-free diet my entire life. ...

Everyone who knows me knows how strongly I feel about artificial sweeteners. Instead of providing just my personal opinion, I'm forwarding enlightening information from a nutrition professional, Bonnie Minsky. Although I do not personally know her, she is highly regarded in the alternative treatment circle-of-friends I've found. Please consider the following the next time you reach for "just one c...

This is a continuation of my experiences with Zoloft, why I went on it, and today, why I got off of it. As mentioned in my previous blog, I am not a healthcare professional. I am just sharing my experiences. So, in my previous blog I mentioned how I tried to go off Zoloft and was unsuccessful. As I stated, even reducing my dose (50 to 25, half a pill), caused me to rage. I mean RAGE. I feared fo...

I had the wonderful opportunity to visit the Body Worlds Exhibit yesterday at the Milwaukee Public Museum. I thought I knew what to expect - I certainly had fair warning from others who have seen it. Still, the reaction I had was unexpected. I thought I'd like it. I thought I was science-orientated enough to look at the exhibits objectively. I thought I might learn something (I've been consi...
