This just in --The 7th Circuit Court of Appeals reversed Judge Rudolph Randa's order shutting down the John Doe investigation into political allies of Gov. Scott Walker—the Wisconsin Club for Growth and its director, Eric O'Keefe. The three judges—who famously overturned Randa's ruling in the Georgia Thompson case—want the case to be heard in state court. Randa's ruling in this case was alwa...

The latest attack on Democratic gubernatorial candidate Mary Burke as a plagiarist is so absurd I hesitate to write about it. What’s so ridiculous and hypocritical is that Scott Walker and his allegedly independent supporters copy each other all the time.  Walker’s official slogan is “It’s Working.” I know that this is completely detached from reality, but that’s what the governo...

Right now, the 7th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals in Chicago is hearing oral arguments about whether the John Doe investigation into alleged illegal coordination between Gov. Scott Walker and the Wisconsin Club for Growth (and other organizations) is legal.  Reporters aren’t allowed to bring in electronic devices, so very little information is seeping out. Instead, Twitter is aflame with ...

The Wisconsin Club for Growth and its leader, Eric O’Keefe, are suing Wisconsin prosecutors for investigating their activities. They ...

New court documents briefly made public in the John Doe investigation into Gov. Scott Walker’s alleged “criminal scheme” revealed how the governor solicited funds for an outside group—the Wisconsin Club for Growth, controlled by his own campaign operative, R.J. Johnson. Walker admitted to doing this very thing, but says he did nothing wrong. Wisconsin campaign finance law may say otherwise...

So I just got back from the Milwaukee County Corporation Counsel’s office, where the new John Doe docs are being provided—at a price. The cost of obtaining the flash drive with 14GB of material is $22.50, allegedly to cover the county’s cost to provide the flash drives. The aide distributing the flash drives said they are doing brisk business—14 in the first 14 minutes they were available....

Looks like the conservative majority on the state Supreme Court came out big in favor of Scott Walker’s signature piece of legislation, Act 10. That never seemed to be in doubt. Some members of the conservative majority—namely, Justice David Prosser—were aided by groups that worked with Walker in his alleged criminal scheme to support Act 10 and Republicans in the recalls.  This is the...
