After four years of doing business in Bay View, where it served as one of the most prominent examples of the neighborhood's booming arts scene, the Paper Boat Boutique and Gallery will close on May 31st, the staff announced in an e-mail Saturday afternoon.

Overwhelmed by the consumer culture around her, Mississippi artist Kate Bingaman started Obsessive Consumption, a series of artwork and a corresponding Web site (ObsessiveConsumption.com) documenting her own consumerist tendencies.
