UPDATE: Milwaukee Police Chief Ed Flynn fired Christopher Manney on Oct. 15, using his name in his press conference announcement. Here's a reaction from Chris Ahmuty, executive director of the ACLU of Wisconsin:"The Milwaukee Police Department’s (MPD) explanation about why they fired police officer Christopher Manney at their press was an important first step in improving police community relati...

With just three weeks to go before a high-stakes, hotly contested election, George W. Bush-appointed U.S. Judge Rudolph Randa went rogue—again—and spiked a state campaign law.  This isn’t the first time Randa’s tried to do away with pretty much all campaign regulations in the name of the First Amendment.  This time, he is making legal exactly what prosecutors say Scott Walker d...

Scott Walker and various right-wing organizations. The most recent shot was fired by U.S. Judge Rudolph Randa, a Federalist Society member and guy who’s gone off t...

I know I shouldn’t make predictions, but it’s hard to resist not contemplating what will turn up in the documents to be released next Wednesday in the case of Kelly Rindfleisch.  Rindfleisch, you may remember, was a top Scott Walker aide when he was Milwaukee County executive. At the same time—literally—she was fundraising for Walker’s preferred lieutenant governor candidate. Aft...
