The Milwaukee Brewers released veteran reliever Eric Gagne today. Gagne's injured shoulder is going to need rehabilitation and he has decided to pursue that rehab at a private facility. While he was a long shot to make the roster, I was rooting for Gagne to make it back to Milwaukee. Not only was Gagne another veteran presence in the bullpen, but his charity work was unmatched by any player on last ...

Ok, so he was a bust as our closer (though I still think there's a valid injury argument to be made), but you cannot deny that Eric Gagne is a class act. To mark the Thanksgiving holiday, the Brewers official site had an article about the team and charitable giving and pointed to Gagne has the player who gave the most this season, including a $50,000 donation to the MACC Fund - the largest single ...

A lot of people have been down on Gagne because of his pitching performance, but you can't help but respect his committment to the team, the community and charity work. Gagne's also donating $25 per strikeout by ANY Brewers pitcher at home to charity. Seriously, it's too bad he's had such a rough season, because he's the type of guy I like to have on our team. He's received the most harrassment f...

I was at that screaming fast game last night where we had spectacular seats. I'll have pics up tomorrow, since I just put up the Badger pics. *There's a guy on the Reds who's name is Jolbert Cabrera. He's from Columbia. From some reason, his name is pronounced Whole-burt by the PA and on the radio. It's like the name is Spanglish. It's driving me nuts. In Spanish, it would be Whole-bear...

According to JSOnline, David Riske will be in Nashville starting today to start his rehab assignment. He should be back with the team and ready to go by the weekend. J.J. Hardy has a strained rotator cuff. The article's a few days old and said he "might" be held out of the Twins series, which he was, so hopefully the rest helped and he'll be back in the lineup tonight. The JSOnli...

New faces, position changes for Brewers this springBy Jerry CrasnickESPN.comPHOENIX -- The Milwaukee Brewers might not be "America's team" just yet, but they're a huge hit at local synagogues. That's a given for a club with two players, Ryan Braun and Gabe Kapler, who go by the nickname "Hebrew Hammer."Hey, if Wikipedia confirms it, it must be true. The Brewers signed Eric Gagne to a one-year, $10 ...

Brewers get Gagne December 09, 2007 | 05:46 PM I'll be the first to say I didn't see this one coming. Apparently Doug Melvin knows how to wait it out, because the Eric Gagne talk had all but disappeared here in Milwaukee as there were other teams interested. Instead I awoke this morning to news that, pending a physical, Eric Gagne will be the Brewers' closer next season...
