This picture of Nyjer Morgan from FS Wisconsin is too amazing not to share.   Some fun Deja Vu tonight. Braun hit the home run to beat the Cubs on the final day of the season in 2008 to clinch the NL Wild Card. In 2008 the Brewers beat the Cubs and had to hang around the stadium to wait to watch the Marlins win. Today the Brewers beat the Marlins and had to wait to see the Cubs win.   The Brew...

In case you didn't see it, tonight the Brewers had a bit of a stolen base/hit and run on with Carlos Gomez on first base. He never slowed and took third when the ball was fielded and thrown to first for the out. The ball was then thrown to third to try and get Gomez out, but was overthrown and Gomez came home on the error. Make sense? If not, Disciples of Uecker broke down the play with diagrams to...

I have an old, craptastic phone, so I can MoBlog to my other site, but I can't do it to the Shepherd site. So here's what I had to say throughout the day. I'll have a full post, with pictures, soon. SUPER DELICIOUS MEAL at Rick Baxless' XoCo and a detour to Millenium Park and a Brewers win! Good day! Posted by Nicole at 7:52 PM if (window['tickAboveFold']) {window['tickAboveFo...

Having last night as my first Brewers game of the season may prove to be one bad omen for the other 24 or so games I’ll be attending as the summer progresses.I made no bones about my abject dislike of Ned Yost and thus far I’ve been happy with how “un-Ned” Ken Macha has been. But last night’s seeming refusal to remove a struggling Jeff Suppan from the game smacked of Yost and has left me ...

Sports in Real Life

Former Cubs pitcher Milt Pappas signed with the Orioles out of high school back in 1957, before Robin Yount was a zygote. His signing bonus, $4,000-essentially what CC Sabathia drops on lunch. This was an anomaly as these were the days when almost every player went to the minors and earned their stripes, riding on crappy busses and learning how to throw a change-up. In September of 1971, Pappas retired...

I’m Art Kumbalek and man oh manischewitz what a world, ain’a? And what an in-focking-credible time of year this is, I kid you not, especially if you’re a baseball fan. I don’t know about you’s, but I find it mighty comforting to know that the World Series and a female bear on birth control still have one thing in common—no Cubs.
