The Racine Theatre Guild, 2519 Northwestern Ave. (Highway 38), is taking appointments for auditions on September 13 and 14 for one of the most popular musicals of all time, Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “The Sound of Music.” The show has a large cast, with singing roles for women, men and children (minimum age 10). Performances run December 3-21, over three weekends and six weekdays (for school groups).

To audition, come prepared with a song to sing, sheet music in hand. An accompanist will be provided. Tape recordings and unaccompanied singing are not permitted. In addition to singing, auditions will consist of cold readings from the script and dancing in a group. Scripts may be checked out in advance from the Guild’s box office. All roles are open.

Auditions take place at the Racine Theatre Guild and are being booked into specific time slots. On Saturday, September 13, appointments are available hourly from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. On Sunday, September 14, audition times are 6, 7 and 8 p.m. For more information or to make an appointment, call 262-633-4218.

Now in its 77th season, the Racine Theatre Guild is a nonprofit community (amateur) theatre. The box office, located at 2519 Northwestern Avenue, is normally open from 12 to 6 p.m. Visit RTG online at www.racinetheatre.org.
