9am-6pm Sat and 9am-5pm Sun | FREE admission

September 27 & 28 at Wisconsin State Fair Park
9 a.m. - 6 p.m. Saturday & 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Sunday

Maker Faire Milwaukee is part science fair, part county fair, and part something new!

Known as the "Greatest Show (and Tell) on Earth," Maker Faire is a family-friendly event that welcomes makers to exhibit their work, and share their knowledge and skills with other makers and with the community. Makers range from tech enthusiasts to crafters to artists to scientists to garage tinkerers and hobbyists, of all ages and backgrounds. The aim of Maker Faire is to entertain, inform, connect and grow the maker community.

Maker Faire Milwaukee will feature:

  • More than 100 makers who will demonstrate and showcase 3D printing, microcomputers, robotics, lasers, large-scale art, alternative energy, blacksmithing, crafts, and more
  • Hands-on instructional workshops and activity areas for visitors of all ages and interests
  • A Power Racing Series competition on the Milwaukee Mile (adults racing modified toy cars!)
  • A pumpkin trebuchet
  • FREE admission (some activities or attractions may require a fee)
…and so much more!

This will be the first-ever Maker Faire Milwaukee. It's co-hosted by the Betty Brinn Children’s Museum and Milwaukee Makerspace, in collaboration with MAKE magazine, and sponsored by Brady Corporation. The free event will be held at Wisconsin State Fair Park on the same weekend as the Park’s annual Harvest Fair.

The original Maker Faire event was held in San Mateo, CA and in 2014 celebrated its ninth annual show with some 900 makers and 120,000 people in attendance. World Maker Faire New York, the other flagship event, has grown in four years to 600+ makers and 75,000 attendees. Detroit, Kansas City, Milwaukee, Newcastle (UK), Rome, Oslo and Tokyo are the home of “featured” 2014 Maker Faires; and community-driven, independently organized Mini Maker Faires are now being produced around the United States and the world.
