Present Music presents: Life, Love, and Death
Present Music will explore the elements of life, love and death featuring world-renowned Sean-nós singer Iarla Ó Lionáird on Friday, April 11 at Turner Hall Ballroom. Ó Lionáird will perform three works including Donnacha Dennehy’s Grá agus Bás (Love and Death) which NPR Music described as, “murmuring strings and winds at the beginning, combined with propulsive, primal rhythms at the end, creating one of the best and most satisfying listening experiences of the year.” UWM faculty artists Lee Ann Garrison, Brooke Thiele, Dean Valadez and Patrick Lichty, and artist Shannon Molter will exhibit multimedia art installations. Danceworks Artistic Director and UWM Dance faculty Dani Kuepper will present new choreography to Phil Kline’s “Exquisite Corpses”.
Stay afterward for a mesmerizing performance by Milwaukee’s own Gypsy Noir band, The Vitrolum Republic!
