Jean's Jazz Series presents SIDE EFX and Extra Crispy Brass Band

Keyboardist Eddie Muniz is co-leader of the band Lake Effect, which has opened for Spiro Gyra and Kim Waters. Bassist Harrison Bankhead, leader of the Harrison Bankhead Sextet, has been a keystone of the Chicago jazz community for more than three decades. Steven “Rainman” Rainey, bandleader and drummer for The Real Deal, has played in groups that opened for B.B. King, Nelson Rangel, Ramsey Lewis and David Benoit. Together they make up the smooth jazz trio known as SIDE EFX.
Extra Crispy Brass Band
ECBB is a New Orleans-style, seven-piece brass band with trombones, trumpets, tuba, tenor sax, snare drum, bass drum and vocals. Repertoire ranges from pieces that date back to the turn of the 20th century, to traditionals by Louis Armstrong and Sidney Bechet, to modern funk tunes and originals. Gigs have included Bastille Days, Jazz in the Park, Turner Hall Ballroom, and a residency at the Uptowner in Milwaukee.
