The Midwest Interdisciplinary Graduate Conference (MIGC)

 The ninth annual Midwest Interdisciplinary Graduate Conference (MIGC) takes up the theme "ANIMACY" in culture and in theory. We are pleased to welcome Keynote Speaker: Mel Y Chen (UC Berkeley) author of Animacies: Biopolitics, Racial Mattering, and Queer Affect, (Duke University Press 2012). Also featuring Laura Micciche, University of Cincinnati, author of DoingEmotion: Rhetoric, Writing, Teaching (Boynton/Cook 2007), plenary speaker Ben Woodard, Ph.D. candidate, University of Western Ontario and a workshop led by Zach Blas, Ph.D. candidate, Duke University.

Friday night, February 21st, we will host a creative showcase in response to the conference theme at Microlights, 2541 N. Bremen Street in Riverwest, 7pm - 9pm. Refreshments will be served.

Join us for three days of graduate student research, free and open to the public.
