Ellen Gilbert, of Hartford, Wis., shows five decades’ worth of her paintings at the Concordia University Wisconsin Art Gallery Oct. 25 through Dec. 15 in an exhibit titled “A Life’s Passion.” An opening reception for the exhibit will take place on Friday, Oct. 25 from 6 to 9 p.m.

Gilbert’s style has evolved from 1960’s “optical art”, to 1980s political themes, to contemporary depictions of Biblical scenes.

The CUW Art Gallery is open Monday through Friday from noon to 4:00 p.m., Thursday evenings from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., and Sundays from noon to 4:00 p.m. in Barth 107, on the west side of campus.
