Milwaukee Repertory Theater presents: Forever Plaid
On a stormy night in the 1960s, four eager singers known as ‚ÄúThe Plaids‚ÄĚ ‚Äď Sparky, Jinx, Frankie and Smudge ‚Äď are killed in a car crash on the way to their first big gig. In 2013, they get one chance to return from the afterlife and bop-shoo-bop their way through classic hits like ‚ÄúLove is a Many Splendored Thing,‚ÄĚ ‚ÄúThree Coins in the Fountain,‚ÄĚ ‚ÄúSixteen Tons‚ÄĚ and many more. Audiences will delight in their zany, boyish squabbles and charmingly outlandish choreography as they pay an affectionate homage to the close-harmony male singing groups of the 1950s, and fulfill their dreams by performing the show that never was. Written by Stuart Ross, with arrangements by James Raitt, Forever Plaid will be directed by Rep Artistic Associate JC Clementz. Associate Artist Dan Kazemi will provide musical direction for this production. The cast features Adam Estes and Paul Helm, both returning to the Stackner Cabaret, and Nate Lewellyn and Anand Nagraj, both making their Stackner Cabaret debuts. Colleen Schmitt, also making her Rep debut, will accompany the cast on piano. Forever Plaid runs in the Stackner Cabaret from October 25 ‚Äď December 29 and opens Sunday, October 27.
