Blueburg Cafe "Summer of Love" Open Mic: 21 and Under Night
The Center has been hosting Open Mic Nights on the first Wednesday of every month since August 2012 showcasing musicians, singers, poets, dancers, comedians, filmmakers and story tellers. With a growing pool of talent and enthusiastic audiences, the Center has expanded opportunities for emerging talent through local partnerships. Whitney Clapper will appear as the opening act at Summer Sounds in Cedarburg's Cedar Creek on Friday, July 26, along with String Fling. And an opportunity to sing the national anthem at a Lakeshore Chinooks baseball game in Mequon has been extended to five Blueburg Café performing acts.
In the spirit of Woodstock, the Center provides these newest performance opportunities over "Three Nights of Peace and Music" in the "Summer of Love" Saturday Series:
Saturday, June 15 is "21 and Under Night" featuring performers age 21 or younger. Audience members may be any age.
Saturday, July 13 is "Woodstock Night" - If it was played at Woodstock, you can play it at Blueburg Café.
Saturday, August 24 will feature "Singer/Songwriters," and all performers must play original music.
Shows take place at the Cedarburg Cultural Center and start at 7:30pm. Doors open and sign-up begins at 6:30pm. Performers are chosen on a first come-first served basis with management reserving the right to move performances to best showcase the talent. Amplification and microphones are provided. Filmmakers must call in advance to insure proper equipment is available.
The Café's full bar will offer drink specials, beer, wine and soft drinks. There is no cover charge.
