Die Kreuzen w/ We Are Hex
Few punk bands evolved quicker or in more unexpected directions than Milwaukee hardcore pioneers Die Kreuzen, who throughout the ’80s moved away from purist hardcore toward grungier, more experimental terrain as they recorded with producer Butch Vig for Touch & Go Records. By the time punky alternative rock came into vogue in the early ’90s, Die Kreuzen had already disbanded, and for years it seemed they would stay that way until they came together last year for the “Lest We Forget” benefit concert at Turner Hall Ballroom. They’ve followed up that reunion with a very small handful of 2013 dates; this return show at Turner Hall is one of just two U.S. dates they’ve announced. As with last year’s show, these dates find original members Keith Brammer, Daniel Kubinski and Erik Tunison joined by Couch Flambeau’s Jay Tiller, filling in for guitarist Brian Egeness.
