One of the more notable bands picked up by Simon Cowell’s Syco Music label, Il Divo puts a fresh spin on the male quartet. Each member hails from a different country, and they perform songs in multiple languages. Il Divo received a boost when they were invited to accompany Barbra Streisand on her 2006 North American tour, and performed in Paraguay for an audience of more than 33,000 in 2011, giving haunting and beautiful renditions of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah”—Cowell’s crowd-slaying song of choice—and other standards. That same year the operatic pop group released their sixth album, Wicked Game, which included a cover of the Chris Isaak song.
