The Alchemist Theatre started a tradition with its 2008 staging of Jackie Benka's Ripper, which became the first of the theater’s popular annual Halloween production. Now the theater is giving the show a fresh staging with a drastically reworked version of the thriller, the first in the Alchemist’s “Year of Fear” staging of old horror shows. Now titled The Canonical Five of Jack the Ripper, the production features a hell of a cast in the roles of the victims. Anna Figlesthaler plays Mary Kelly. Libby Amato plays Catherine Eddowes. Liz Whitford plays Polly Nichols. The cast also featuring Wisconsin Hybrid Theatre's Randall T. Anderson and frequent Off The Wall Theatre actress Sharon Nieman-Koebert. (Through Feb. 9)
