Milwaukee Ballet presents Genesis: International Choreographic Competition
This February, three young choreographers will get a unique opportunity to showcase their talents during Genesis, Milwaukee Ballet’s fifth international choreographic competition. Held every other year, Genesis is a contest that showcases the most innovative and imaginative facets of dance from the world’s best up-and-coming choreographers. Milwaukee Ballet is one of only a few companies to host a truly international competition.
“Genesis represents a quintessential aspect of our
mission at Milwaukee Ballet,” said Milwaukee Ballet Artistic Director Michael
Pink. “Milwaukee Ballet has a longstanding commitment to producing new and
innovative works, and Genesis provides a wonderful opportunity for three
incredible young choreographers to work with world class dancers in a
professional environment that fosters and nurtures their individual creativity
and artistic identity.”
Genesis: International Choreographic Competition runs February 7-10, 2013 at the Pabst Theater, 144 E. Wells Street, Milwaukee. Tickets to the performance range from $29-$74.
