Other Lives w/ Indians
7:30 p.m.
It’s difficult to point out an obvious standout single on Other Lives’ 2011 album, Tamer Animals. Instead, each of the 11 songs sounds carefully molded over time to produce a single enthralling sonic experience. Expanding on the more dramatic impulses of their folky 2009 self-titled debut, which was produced by longtime Beck drummer Joey Waronker, the group’s sophomore album boasts a fleet of strings and pulsating horns that creates a gripping, otherworldly alt-rock sound. Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke clearly took a liking to the album: He created an eerie remix of its title track.
