The Horrible Truth About M. Ward...
…he’s overrated. His songs are forgettable, his voice is grating, his playing is ostentatious. He’s cocky and pretentious and generally unlikable, part of the NPR-ification of indie-rock.
On that note: M. Ward does a just-announced July 19 show at the Pabst Theater. Tickets go on sale May 23 at noon.
I dunno.... Nobody seems to agree or disagree for a long time here. I like him.
You make some good points. I haven't been able to get into him despite the recommendation of a highly respected friend of mine. It's just too pretentious.
