One of the better of the so-called "jamtronica" bands, the Philadelphia five-piece Lotus thinks beyond usual jam influences. The group draws not only from beat-heavy dance music but also slippery, experimental post-rock, particularly Tortoise, so they place at least as much emphasis on composition as they do the groove. They play an 8 p.m. show at the Miramar Theatre tonight.
