The Zac Brown Band first made a name for themselves at jam-leaning music festivals before infiltrating country radio, and that jamming spirit still resides in their rootsy studio albums. Dueting with traditional country stalwart Alan Jackson and singing about fried chicken and patriotism comes as naturally and sincerely for them as playing Bonnaroo and Coachella. Even when he dips his toes into tropicalia like Jimmy Buffett or Kenny Chesney, Brown proves his hippie-esque skullcap is as much a valid fashion accoutrement in his music as is a ten-gallon Stetson hat.

Singer-songwriter Brown is also a champion for tradition and quality in his sphere of influence and unafraid to take heat for being opinionated. His remarks last year criticizing country’s drift toward bro culture’s chuckle-headedness and clumsy hip-hop appropriation caused no small stir on Music Row, but he didn't back down from them, either. Having already established his band as a mainstream favorite with high quality control, the fuss over speaking truth to power hasn’t hindered the group’s winning streak.

The band’s Marcus Amphitheater appearance should draw a diverse crowd that can easily unite around one of the brightest spots on country radio playlists nowadays.
