Miscarriage

I conceive a film noir,

where I am the murderess

dressed in black

and my body is a cold case.

And as I look into the latrine

filled deep with child,

anxiety slips me a chill

through the blue of my veins.

I have murdered once again.

Death hit the seed

before she was alive.
