If a March performance in Madison is any indication, the kind of fired-up show this trio of country hunks puts on is tailor made for a hot Summerfest evening. These guys party like every night is Saturday night, singing rockin’ country songs about chicks, trucks and beer. Jason Aldean, touring in support of his fifth (and third number-one) album, Night Train, was named “Male Vocalist of the Year” at the 2013 American Country Music Awards and received a nomination at this year’s People’s Choice Awards for “Favorite Country Singer.” His touring guitarists deserve almost as much attention as Aldean. Jake Owen is still on the road following the 2011 release of his number-one album, Barefoot Blue Jean Night, which has so far spawned four singles. The seasoned singer-songwriter and guitarist previously opened for everyone from Brad Paisley and Keith Urban to Little Big Town and Sugarland, but could easily headline his own tour. Meanwhile, newcomer Thomas Rhett has yet to release his full-length debut, but he has co-written songs for Aldean and is perhaps best known for his single “Beer With Jesus.”
