In the 1980s, con artist David Hampton tricked a group of wealthy Manhattanites out of a great deal of money by claiming to be Sidney Poitier's son. In 1990, playwright John Guare had the last laugh on Hampton by developing the story into the wildly successful drama Six Degrees of Separation. The story of identity and circumstance makes it to the stage of Elm Grove's respected Sunset Playhouse.
