The Beer Line Trail
Urban Bike Trail
In
Riverwest the abandoned railroad right-of-way that traverses the bluffs on the
western banks of the Milwaukee
River has long been used
by locals and their dogs for quiet, solitary strolls through a forest of ash
and cottonwood trees. Once a vital railroad corridor used by the Blatz, Pabst
and Schlitz breweries for the delivery of beer, the recently paved asphalt
trail is seeing new life as a small but integral vein in Milwaukee’s growing vasculature of routes for
non-motorized travel.
