If anyone in this city embodies the “Do what you love and success will follow” adage, it’s Tom Crawford, station manager and DJ for WMSE. His relationship with the indie station began in the early-’80s when his band was interviewed on-air and three of their songs were played. By 1983 Crawford was rocking the airwaves as a DJ and loving every minute of it. A decade later, he fund-raised himself into a job as promotions and funding director, and in less than two years was promoted to station manager. Because of Tom Crawford’s love of music, local bands and the city of Milwaukee itself, the nonprofit, listener-supported indie radio station has thrived and evolved under his leadership.

A Milwaukee Fire and Police Commission panel upheld the firing of former Milwaukee Police officer Christopher Manney for violating department rules last April when he encountered Dontre Hamilton before fatally shooting him. Do you agree with the commission’s decision?
